A Dubai holiday can mean shopping, desert safaris, family time or a few days exploring somewhere new. Before you finalise your plans, make sure your visa and travel documents match your trip.
For Indian passport holders, the right UAE entry option depends on your passport, any qualifying overseas visa or residence status, and how long you plan to stay. Here is what to prepare.
Do Indian passport holders need a UAE tourist visa?
Indian travellers generally need an appropriate visa or entry permission before visiting the UAE, unless they qualify for a visa-on-arrival route.
Certain Indian ordinary passport holders with qualifying overseas visas or residence documents may be eligible for special entry arrangements. Eligibility depends on the issuing country, document type and validity—holding any foreign visa is not enough. Check your documents before choosing this route.
Which tourist visa should you choose?
Dubai immigration lists standard single-entry tourist visas for 30 or 60 days. These are arranged through accredited tourism establishments.
| Option | Suitable for |
|---|---|
| 30-day single-entry tourist visa | A holiday or shorter visit |
| 60-day single-entry tourist visa | A longer planned stay |
| Multiple-entry tourist visa | A trip involving more than one UAE entry, subject to availability and eligibility |
| Transit visa | An eligible short stopover, with separate requirements |
Choose the visa according to your itinerary. If you plan to leave the UAE and return during the same trip, confirm whether you need multiple-entry permission.
Documents required for a UAE tourist visa
The core requirements include a passport with at least six months’ validity, a photograph, an onward or return travel ticket, and medical insurance valid in the UAE.
For applications assisted by Haneeva Overseas Education, prepare the following:
| Document or information | What to provide |
|---|---|
| Passport | Clear colour scans of the first and last pages |
| Passport cover | Clear scans of the front and back covers, when requested |
| Recent photograph | A clear studio photograph following the application channel’s specifications |
| Flight itinerary | Confirmed travel into the UAE and return or onward travel |
| Accommodation | Genuine hotel confirmation or the required documents for staying with a host |
| Medical insurance | Cover valid in the UAE; confirm whether it is included in your package |
| PAN card | A readable copy for each applicable applicant, when requested |
| Occupation details | Employment, business, student or homemaker status |
| Supporting occupation proof | Payslips, business registration, GST documents or other relevant evidence, where requested |
| Emergency contacts | Two family contact numbers and their relationship to you |
| Previous UAE travel | Details of earlier visits, visas, refusals or overstays, if applicable |
Haneeva’s supporting checklist may be more detailed than the basic immigration requirements. Additional documents can also be requested during assessment.
Photograph and accommodation checks
Use a recent, sharp photograph with your face clearly visible and a neutral expression. Follow the exact size, background and file requirements provided for your application.
For accommodation, ensure the booking covers your planned stay and shows the relevant traveller details. If you are staying with family, ask which host and relationship documents are needed. Emirates, for example, accepts specified family accommodation documentation as an alternative to a hotel reservation.
A genuine pay-at-property reservation may be suitable for some application channels, but it must be valid and verifiable. Never submit an invented or altered booking.
How does the application process work?
-
Share your travel dates, passport details and previous UAE travel history.
-
Confirm the appropriate visa type and application route.
-
Submit the requested documents for review.
-
Confirm the charges and processing estimate.
-
The application is submitted through the applicable authorised channel.
-
After approval, check your electronic permit carefully.
The UAE government explains that tourist visas can be arranged through eligible airlines, licensed travel agencies and hotels. Airline routes can have conditions tied to travelling with that airline.
ICP confirms that issued visas can be received electronically by email. Keep a copy accessible when travelling.
How long does processing take?
Processing depends on the application channel and whether further checks are needed. Dubai immigration lists an expected completion time of 48 hours for its single-entry tourist visa service. This is a service estimate, not a guaranteed approval deadline.
For Haneeva-assisted applications, the normal estimate shared is 4–5 business days. Express options may be available, but the applicable timeline should be confirmed before payment.
Apply with sufficient time before departure. Immigration review, missing documents and public holidays can affect the outcome and timing.
Visa validity and length of stay: understand the difference
Your visa has two important time limits:
-
Entry validity: the deadline by which you must enter the UAE.
-
Permitted stay: how long you can remain after entering.
A 30-day tourist visa does not necessarily mean you must enter within 30 days of issuance. Read the dates and conditions on your approved permit instead of relying on a general estimate.
Can you extend your stay?
Some tourist visas can be extended, subject to the visa category and immigration approval. Check eligibility before your authorised stay ends—an extension is not automatic.
UAE tourist visa fees through Haneeva
The following are Haneeva’s quoted single-entry service prices, subject to reconfirmation:
| Visa option | Quoted price per person |
|---|---|
| 30-day single-entry | ₹8,999 |
| 60-day single-entry | ₹14,999 |
| Express processing supplement | ₹1,500 additional |
Ask for a current quotation explaining the visa category, insurance, service charges and any additional costs. Shorter-duration and urgent options should be checked for eligibility and availability before booking.
Once an application is submitted, visa and service charges may be non-refundable. Review the written cancellation and refund terms before paying.
Before you travel
Check that your name and passport number on the visa are correct. Carry your passport, visa, flight itinerary, accommodation or host details, and insurance information.
Use genuine documents, disclose previous immigration issues and leave before your authorised stay expires. Visa approval does not guarantee admission; entry remains subject to immigration clearance.
